1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account, including your
email address, display name, and optional profile details such as city,
state, sobriety date, and bio. Each account is assigned a personal
connection code (e.g. david.t.123) so other members can reach
you if you share it with them.
We also collect messages and content you post within the app, including meeting feed posts, direct messages, group chats, reactions, and shared tool content (check-ins, gratitude lists, journal entries, daily reviews) when you choose to share them.
Usage data. We collect product analytics — which screens you visit, which features you use, and errors you encounter — to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This data is associated with your account but is never used for advertising, sold, or shared outside the service providers listed below.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve the Homegroup service, facilitate connections between members, deliver notifications, ensure the safety of our community, and understand how features are used so we can fix problems and make the app better.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your profile information is visible to members of meetings you join and chats you participate in. Direct messages and group chats are only visible to participants. Your personal recovery work — check-ins, gratitude lists, journal entries, daily reviews — stays private unless you choose to share it.
We share information with service providers that support the operation of the app. We use Supabase for hosting, authentication, and database storage; PostHog for product analytics; and Apple Push Notification Service and Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivering notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using secure infrastructure providers, including Supabase. We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion permanently removes your data from our systems, except where retention is required for legal or safety purposes.
6. Your Rights
You can access, update, or delete your information at any time within the app.
7. Age Requirement
Homegroup is intended for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
